OPG Magriz is located in the southern part of the island of Krk in the small town of Kornic. This family farm is actively involved in the production and sale of sheep cheese, olives, raspberry oil and various homemade spreads. The name Magriž originated from a very represented plant species which, despite the storms that bring salt from the sea, grows defiantly on the rocky pastures of the island of Krk. These pastures are the free space where their sheep feed, so the plant magriz is a famous ingredient that gives sheep's milk a special taste, and thus a specific aroma and character of cheese. Other herbs are also used in the production, such as rosemary, walnut leaves and sage, with which we coat the cheeses in the ripening phase in order to acquire various natural aromas. The production of the Cornichia brand oil itself is certified organic (without the addition of any pesticides), and cold pressing methods are used to preserve the nutritional value and richness of aroma and taste. Within the oil mill there is a new, modern tasting room. You can buy and taste their olive oils and products in specialized stores, in the oil mill, through the webshop and in direct agreement with the family farm.
