St. Ivan-Kapistran-Kirche auf IIok
Die Franziskaner in Ilok werden erstmals im 14. Jahrhundert erwähnt, als Herzog Ugrin auf IIok eine Kirche bauen ließ. Zu Ehren und zum Ruhm des heiligen Johannes von Capistrano wurde sie nach dessen Tod von König Nikola erweitert und restauriert. Johannes von Capistrano wurde 1690 heiliggesprochen, und die Zellenkapelle, in der er 1456 krank war und starb, ist in ihrem ursprünglichen Zustand erhalten geblieben. Heute wird diese Kirche von Pilgern und Neugierigen besucht, die in ihr die geistige Kraft und den Glauben finden, die von der gesamten Kirche und dem Kloster ausgehen.

The location radiated religious strength for the pilgrims. It was an honor to experience this and be able to talk about it.

We toured the church and had the chance to see the cell- chapel that was used back in the day and preservatives of famous historic timeline and people.

The site holds great history and wonderful preserved relics, both inside and outside had lovely mural paintings, i loved the history lesson
